The College of Fine Arts welcomes its new students formally every year in a Freshman Orientation which is scheduled during the first day of enrollment as scheduled in the UP Diliman Academic Calendar.
The gathering is an occasion where the incoming first year students are briefed regarding UP policies, rules and regulations as well as those which the CFA additionally implements, governing all aspects of student life, from academic to extra-curricular matters. The college Fresham Orientation is a dry-run for the UP-wide University Freshman orientation where all new students are formally welcomed by UP officers of administration.
In the early weeks of the semester, new students familiarize themselves with CFA complex.
With the demanding requirements of the major courses, students soon realize that three hours for one class can be far too brief. They learn to take the shortest and fastest route by foot, by jeep or by car to their GE classes or sneak a bite or two during and in between classes held at noontime. The library becomes a haunt for very urgent research requirements, for comfortable study and a respite for very hot afternoons.
